MALE LOW LIBIDO

Results:

You selected in the questionnaire:

  • In the past I was interested in sex but now I am not

This statement indicates: Acquired Low Libido meaning that something has changed in your life and that the issue was not always presenting. This type of issue is usually considered in some cases more easily addressed than other types of libido issues. The reason for this is that you have experienced a healthy libido in the past but it indicates that something has changed in your life. The goal is to uncover what it is that is now different. Note however that in terms of aging, we cannot turn back the clock but there may be strategies available to you that will still allow you to enjoy a level of healthy sexual functioning.

The following areas are known contributors to either causing, from the beginning, and / or keep maintaining the dysfunction. You will need to carefully consider your answers and investigate further anything you feel may be an issue.

  • Figure out the time line – when did things change?

  • Now note down what was happening in your life at this time. In other words, what was different about then to now?

  • Are you currently taking medications that you weren’t before?

  • Do you take illicit drugs or excessive amounts of alcohol?

  • Check your weight in accordance with general health standards.

  • Do you exercise regularly and live a healthy lifestyle?

  • Consult your GP to discuss testosterone levels and other physical issues that may be present and creating or maintaining the problem.

  • Consider your level of general life happiness.

  • Think and note down issues and stressors at work, home and other areas that may be contributing to high levels of stress or anxiety.

  • Do you have any reason to think you may be suffering from depression? If so consult your GP as soon as possible.

  • Isolate changes in our life situation between then and now. For example resent unemployment, change in partner, job satisfaction, recent illness.

  • Have you experienced a recent loss?

  • Check your energy levels and are you getting enough sleep. Do you feel overworked?

  • Think about the general satisfaction in your current relationship.

  • Do you suffer from a mental illness?

Once you have established the answers to these questions, it is likely you have uncovered the driver and / or what’s maintaining the issue. You will then need to address this in order to establish healthy sexual functioning.
