So far this statement indicates:
Lifelong Low Libido meaning that so far in your life you have experienced low libido and it has not been acquired along the way. This type of issue is usually considered in some cases more difficult to address than other types of libido issues. However there are still many considerations to look at in terms of your treatment strategy.
The following areas are known contributors to either causing, from the beginning, and / or keep maintaining the dysfunction. You will need to carefully consider your answers and investigate further anything you feel may be an issue.
-
Have you always taken some form of
medication? Check with your GP or the manufacturer to assess
if this is impacting on sexual functioning.
-
Have you always indulged in illicit drugs
or excessive amounts of alcohol?
-
Check your weight in accordance with
general health standards.
-
Do you (or have you always) exercised
regularly and live a healthy lifestyle?
-
Consult your GP to discuss testosterone
levels and other physical issues that may be present and
creating or maintaining the problem.
-
Consider your level of general life
happiness.
-
Think and note down issues and stressors
at work, home and other areas that may be contributing to
high levels of stress or anxiety.
-
Do you have any reason to think you may
be (or have always) suffered from depression? If so consult
your GP as soon as possible.
-
Check your energy levels and are you
getting enough sleep. Do you feel overworked?
-
Think about the general satisfaction in
your current relationship and how have your relationships
been throughout your lifespan?
|
-
Check what your general attitudes are
toward sexuality?
-
Consider your family-of origin. Was
sexuality talked about: not at all, with positivity or was
the subject frowned upon?
-
Do you suffer from a mental illness?
Once you have established the answers to these questions, it is
likely you have uncovered the driver and / or what’s maintaining
the issue. You will then need to address this in order to
establish healthy sexual functioning.
